Italy at South Coast Plaza South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, Calif.
An installation for Italian cultural events and display for artisan’s work, this 15,000-sq.-ft. project on three levels—which was not allowed mechanical connections to the existing structure—utilizes 9,000 linear feet of stainless steel cable and 2,000 sq. ft. of fabric. The decorative and avant garde presentation uses images of Italy projected onto the fabrics to create a memorable moment, while providing unobstructed views in the open space.ÊÊ
