Outstanding Merit

Pollo Campero Webster, Texas

Designers created a striking, modern, and colorful prototype with distinctive architectural elements. Dynamic angles and intersecting planes convey energy in a multi-colored fascia inspired by the Latin American’s flavor cues. The kitchen becomes a “culinary theater” showcasing chefs at work and fresh preparation with a salsa bar as the centerpiece on the angled corner. Multi-colored ceramic tiles are used on the front of an L-shaped counter with stackedstone to add warmth to the stainless steel and glass food preparation area. Custom art includes hand-carved, sculptural glyphs that serve as a partition in the dining room, which offers a variety of seating options, including banquettes, booths, and small tables. A dark ceiling with recessed lights and pendant lamps over large tables of wood inlaid with graphics round out the look.
